Review of After Earth (2013) by Glenn F — 22 Jan 2014
Real life father and son Will and Jaden Smith star as the only two survivors (father and son) of a spaceship crash on a planet in which the flora, fauna and even the weather have all evolved to be lethal to human life - shades of the Red Dward episode 'Garbage World' (or Simon Green's novel 'Hellworld') here!
With the elder of the two suffering from 2 broken legs and so trapped on the front part of the spacecraft, it's up to the younger to trek across the hostile landscape in search of the back half in order to activate a distress beacon - in other words, it's up to Will Smith to play second fiddle to his son. Just a pity his acting ability isn't as good yet!
