Review of Affliction (2012) by Jaime-Actor/Screenwriter/Director — 01 Aug 2008
This is an underrated movie. I never even heard about it or ever knew it existed until I did some research on Nick Nolte and found this in his resume. I saw it on tv a couple weeks ago and saw it again today.
Nick Nolte is really convincing in his role and I really dig his performance the more the movie goes on. I was very impressed with James Coburn, he really did look like a drunk-abusive dad. Overall, this movie is good and deserves more recognition.
It's a simple story, but the depth of the main characters really drives the film. Watching it made me wanna have some alcohol, I'd say that's a pretty effective movie.
