Review of Adaptation. (2002) by Jesse G — 03 Apr 2010
I had been wanting to see this movie for such a long time and I had built it up so much in my mind, thinking about how great of a movie it must be. We all know that can only lead to disappointment. I absolutely loved the first half of this movie.
However, the closer to the end I got, the more disappointed I became. I think this movie had so much potential but was nearly ruined by the farfetched ending. But maybe that's the point. I also find it odd that none of the music in the movie caught my attention.
When the movie was over, I actually asked myself, "Was there any music in this at all?" Of course there was, but I don't think it was very important. I would recommend this movie, though.
It's smart but still fun, and, if you can manage to get past the fact that Nicolas Cage plays two roles, it has a great cast. I actually liked the Charlie character at times. I found that I could identify with him at certain points, and that scared me a bit, haha.
