Review of Adaptation. (2002) by Samuel G — 02 Feb 2011
Adaptation is a film which presents its audience with such big ideas that never really seem meant to fit into just one movie; the writing style and tweeks to the films vary soul give it an odd auroma and the audience never really gets hold of what exactly is running through the authors mind thus forcing them to consider what they are watching as clever and mind bending when really it is quite simple.
Watching it was mind bending not simply in the sense that the ideas which the film explores are way past your head, but also in the sense that they never really make sense. The writer shows an apparently blossoming ego as we see here his apparent love for clever film making and thus forcomes the movies problem being that the writer takes himself far too seriously; thus turning an otherwise clever film into a bit of a mindless, random bore.
