Review of Adaptation. (2002) by Mike H — 07 Feb 2012
Smart -- probably Kaufman's best work. Viewing it again, a few years since my last viewing of it, and now a decade after its release, it finally strikes me that Kaufman the character has too much of the screenplay put on his shoulders: some of the cracks in the script that the film self-references look truer now, whereas in 2002 they looked entirely clever.
This only harms the movie to a degree, because it is extremely well made.
