Brad Pitt should win an Oscar for this. Tremendous performance. Massively superior to Interstellar (to which it will be compared) on every front. Every aspect of movie-making from editing to cinematography to costume to directing to the soundtrack to special effects is pitch-perfect. The believability and beauty are outstanding. Nuanced and full of barely noticed detail. Best use of a supporting cast I’ve seen in a long time.
It reminded me of a space Apocalypse Now with Tommy Lee Jones as Colonel Kurtz.
Best movie of 2019 hands down.
