Review of Action in the North Atlantic (1943) by Torrey P — 05 Apr 2008
This is my guilty pleasure Bogart movie. The scene where he socks a guy in the jaw with the Loose Lips Sink Ships poster in the background, then leaves with Julie Bishop who just sang Night and Day had me laughing out loud.
Raymond Massey. Ruth Gordon and even Alan Hale do what they did so well. Yes, WW2 b.s., but it's a rare one in that the protagonists are Merchant Marines and the pacing is very good. Loved the multi language ending and punchline.
