Review of Absentia (2011) by Steve L — 18 Jul 2012
Micro budget does not mean micro script or micro acting. It means a well thought out, suspenseful movie with actors who don't just phone it in. The characters are seriously invested in the lives they live.
Instead of relying on jump and scare tactics or over the top CGI or makeup, Absentia scares in a real world setting. And that sound.... the bug sound freaks me out. All in all, it's a deliciously uncomfortable watch.
