Review of Absentia (2011) by David J. L — 06 Sep 2012
Absentia has some really good stuff about it, and a bit of not so good stuff. Even though the first act feels distinctly different from the last hour of the film, I thought this was pretty entertaining and impressive considering its tiny budget and crew.
Yeah, some of it feels extremely low budget at times, but it manages to generate a few spooky moments. It does boast some lousy performances though. Overall, props to Mike Flanagan for pulling off a movie with very little, he'll have a promising career as a horror movie director.
