Review of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter (2012) by Jessica W — 30 May 2013
I hate how people are shunning the movie by its title! Yes, the title is ridiculous and so is the story. But, This movie reminds people that movies are supposed to be fun. I read the book before the movie was in talks and I liked it alot.
Than, I heard that Timur Bekmambetov and Tim Burton were going to adapt it and I was interested. I heard the movie got an R Rating which got me more excited for it so the movie has no limits when it came to blood and action.
I happen to be able to see the movie a day early and I walked in happy and walked out happier. First, off the movie doesn't just go out and say "Hey Abraham Lincoln was a vampire hunter. So deal with it.
" No, It starts with saying the lost journal or diaries of Abe Lincoln were found and it says that he was not what history said he was and you knew him as a president but not as the "hunter".
Well anyway, the movie started fairly slow stating the background info about the plot and after that there are excellent action sequences with great choreography. The movie was really gorey and had lots of intense scenes which gave it the R rating.
Overall, the movie was fun and interesting. The movie wasn't made to be Citizen Kane or The Shawshank Redemption but made to have the audience enjoy it and have fun. So don't listen to movie critics about how it wasn't well written and junk like that.
The movie was good and it was fun. If your on the verge of seeing it, DO IT! It will be way worth your money.
