Review of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter (2012) by Hotelcentral — 07 Nov 2018
I don't know what it is. People will watch films like "A Quiet Place" and "It Comes at Night" and think that's entertainment. Then when they get to a film like Abe Lincoln, Vamp Hunter, they seem incapable of recognizing plot or character or competent film-making. Sure, the action sequences go a little bit over the top, just like every other movie coming out of Hollywood for the last 20+ years--from Star Wars to the Marvel "Cinematic" Universe to all the pseudo-espionage films that have twenty minutes of violence for every fifteen seconds of dialog. The difference is that "Abe Lincoln" actually does have a story and it's actually worth watching because it isn't peppered through and through with idiotic plot holes and insane logic flaws.
Yes, it's kind of a historical burlesque, with vampires written into the history of the US Civil War.
