Review of Abduction (2011) by Aline F — 11 Oct 2012
Wow. This was really terrible. Calling this idiotic thriller cookie-cutter is an insult to cookie cutters. This is nothing more than a horrid vanity project for Taylor Lautner who remains as wooden as ever in this atrocious film.
The rest of the cast is also pretty bad, despite having culled actual talented actors and actresses, but you can't blame this film's failure entirely on Lautner. No one, no matter how good they are, could salvage Abduction.
To start off, no one gets abducted. Second, the action scenes are boring, thus destroying any chance of enjoying this film a trashy action flick. Third, the story is preposterous and filled to the brim with plot holes, destroying any chance of this film being enjoyed as a story-oriented thriller.
No matter what way you look at it, Abduction is just awful. If Taylor Lautner wants to continue having an acting career after the Twilight series is over, he better start picking better roles and get more acting lessons.
