Review of A Woman Under the Influence (1974) by Jordan C — 07 Jun 2007
Easily one of, if not the, greatest film to ever depict a complete mental breakdown. The film has Gena Rowlands as a wife that is pushed completely over the edge and then committed. It then shows the extreme difficulties she has when re-intergrating herself back into the life she wasn't sane enough to live earlier.
Gena Rowlands plays a character that is a little strange to begin with but we learn that it is this strangeness that makes her who she is. An emotionally powerful that I know anyone can easily relate to.
