Same feelings that with The killing of a Chinese bookie. Some parts and moments are mesmerizing, thanks mainly to the brilliant performances of Falk and Rowlands (again terrific, superb) but as a whole, this movie works? The story, the script is quite clear and linear if you want to, but I don't think Cassavetes is interested in talking about mental illness, or showing us a familiar drama.
It is more how a personality, a special one can affect their environment, and with that goal the movie is really unusual and interesting, but I'm unsure if its really succesful as a whole.
