Review of A Very Long Engagement (2004) by Pj P — 23 Aug 2008
Odd and touching, yet, well odd, but of course it's partly the camerawork that we loved in Amelie and, though not as idiosyncratic. Wonderful bunch of characters, and the glorious Audrey Tautou. The English always forget that the French lost many more young men out of a smaller population than the English did in the First World War.
Remember this when considering Mathilde's refusal to accept that Manech has died.
