Review of A Very Long Engagement (2004) by Mark L — 20 Aug 2011
This was one of the most entertaining mystery films that I have seen in a long time, what makes it really great is that its a fusion of romance and war. So I guess this is like a fusion of romance, mystery, and war genre.
Jean-Pierre Jeunet's style of film making is really awesome, I think without him we wouldn't have films with the look of SIn City, 300, and Max Payne. One major difference is that he doesn't use green/blue screens as often to pull off his unique style, but that definitely is also credited to his cinematographer.
Oh, and one random tidbit, Jodie Foster has a small role in this?! I didn't know she spoke French. Plus, Marion Cotillard is in here too. Go watch this!
