Review of A Streetcar Named Desire (1951) by Ashley S — 29 Aug 2009
Marlon Brando gives an electrifying performance as alpha-male Stanley Kowalski in this adaptation of Tennessee Williams' most famous play. Equally impressive is Vivien Leigh as Stanley's deluded sister-in-law Blanche DuBois.
Their volatile relationship can only end in tragedy. A bold and memorable film that also boasts a strong supporting cast.
