Review of A Streetcar Named Desire (1951) by Ethan C — 17 Feb 2018
The camerawork is tight and I could almost feel the essence of New Orleans flowing from the screen. Blanche seems like a pretty vain person, insecure about her looks at the same time. She's a mess, but boy is she a looker. Superb acting in this movie. I love the story line.
Blanche's character is a very interesting one to follow. She's a really complex cat. She kisses that one random boy when she's all alone but won't let Mitch kiss her on their date. What a burden to have to take care of your neurotic and psychologically unstable and bat shit crazy delusional sister.
Overall, pretty interesting movie. Brando and Leigh steal the show especially Leigh, she was electrifying.
