Review of A Soldier's Story (1984) by Jeff B — 01 Jun 2007

Well made film by Norman Jewison with a great cast (I really didn't know a lot of the actors and it was sad to find out on IMDb that a few of them had died at a young age). Young Denzel Washington did a good job in one of his first performances.

The script was good, it was well adapted not to appear too much like the play it was based on. I don't know of too many films from that year, so I don't know whether it deserved to be nominated for Best Picture, but so far I'm not complaining.
