This superb adaptation of E.M. Forster's classic novel shows that Merchant Ivory were masters of the period film. There are wonderful performances from a fantastic British cast - including Helena Bonham Carter, Julian Sands, Daniel Day-Lewis, Maggie Smith, Judi Dench, Simon Callow and Denholm Elliot - in this highly enjoyable piece.
