Review of A Room for Romeo Brass (1999) by Tom G — 31 Jul 2008
The film Shane Meadows made before Dead Man's Shoes, the cast is fantastic (although Paddy Considine shines with a by turns hilarious and disturbing performance as Morrell). Great, naturalistic dialogue and an eye for period detail (I'm not sure when the film is set but I'm guessing at circa 1980, like This Is England).
I think this is just as good as his later films: maybe better!
