Review of A Quiet Place (2016) by William G — 19 May 2018

Holy cow! I went into this movie with no expectations, but even so this was not what I expected! The whole premise of the movie is so totally different from any film I have seen and so well executed that even as I sit here writing this review the day after seeing the movie, I'm still basking in the glow of suspense/thriller goodness.

The whole idea is that there are these nightmarish creatures (aliens possibly?) that hunt people using sound. They've done a great job by the look of it, as the population of earth has dwindled to almost nothing. We follow the tale of one family struggling for survival in world where hearing a pin drop makes you jolt with terror.

More than any other film I've seen, this one delivers constant suspense, with tension that rachets upwards constantly from the opening to the final frame. The acting is superb, the characters are real and believable- I really can't say enough good things about this movie. Go watch it!
