Review of A Perfect World (1993) by Brandon H — 03 Sep 2008
A Perfect World was a movie with some potential, sort of, but went wrong in so many places I don't have the energy to type it all out. Some of its bigger blunders involved forced conflict with a few different characters, unnecessary characters, and the general unnecessary-ness of the police trailer plotline.
It was done extremely poorly, with no dramatic tension for most of the time at all. The movie overall, actually, hosted a surprisingly small amount of tension throughout. Its conflicts kept shifting from one scene to the next, and I never quite understood why they needed all those people on the hunt, or why we find out so late in the film where Costner is taking the boy, or why Clint wouldn't signal back that Costner had no firearm.
There were many problems that I don't feel like addressing right now, too many to name. Just not a good movie.
