This is where the series begins to get a bit more campy and funny, which most people hate about the Nightmare films, but I like it. It's the Krueger personality that makes him the household name. In this installment, we learn about Freddy's mother Amanda and how she (a nun) gave birth to Freddy (son of a hundred maniacs).

We also find out where Krueger's body was stashed after he was killed. Despite the funnier death scenes, this movie is still frightening at times, mostly when they are in Freddy's house (which is technically not Freddy's house, it's Nancy's, but it ultimately became synonymous with being Freddy's).

And the creepy girl on the bike. Then there's the infamous Freddy snake/worm monster thing. Sure, probably one of the weaker Elm Street films, but I love 'em all.
