I've seen all of the original Nightmare on Elm Street films including Freddy vs. Jason, and none of those previous eight films were quite this bad. Yes, even the fifth entry about The Dream Child was a better film than this horrible remake.
Leave it to Michael Bay to destroy a beloved 80's franchise. Jackie Earle Haley wasn't bad as Freddy Krueger, he just isn't anywhere near as memorable or strong as Robert Englund was in the same role.
Shockingly, Rooney Mara pales in comparison to Heather Langenkamp. Thank God, we've got The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and The Social Network to see how good she can be with the right role. One last thing: the child molesting angle was even more offensive here than it was in the original.
