Review of A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010) by Eoghan C — 02 Sep 2012
Another failed attempt to redo a classic. Samuel Bayer doesn't even how to direct a horror flick; most of it consists of jump scares and attempts to over blow scenes we remember in the original. Jackie Earle Hayley is a decent pick to play Freddy, it's a shame that the writers aren't even trying to make him a lot like Robert Englund's counterpart.
The acting is beyond boring, most of them look like they haven't slept in days. The transitions between what's real and what's fantasy feels phoned in. Anybody who loved the original will agree with my critisms.
All that's left is to skip this and see the original.
