Review of A Midsummer Night's Sex Comedy (1982) by Benjamin S — 09 Jul 2007
Woody Allen left the city for this one, which is kind of like trying to film March of the Penguins in the desert. It seemed a bit forced, like he knew he needed to get out of the city and thus intentionally soaked up as much of the countryside as possible (while still making references to the Big Apple of course).
Nevertheless, it still works. We watched it on a hot summer's night as we were stuck in the city, and it cooled us down with a nice fresh breeze and a couple giggles.
