Review of A Midsummer Night's Sex Comedy (1982) by Jules E — 17 Dec 2011
Following his habit of adapting or giving homage to famous works of literature, Woody Allen goes Shakespearian with this film. Is it as funny as his other comedies? No, not even close. However the film has a heart and it intensifies Allen's look at relationships and he always manages to show the real side of how a story ends or continues between a couple instead of the melodramatic or romantic endings that only work on old ladies who still dream of a love that will never come.
