Vin Diesel is somewhat of a strange character. One doesn't quite know how to label him. Truth be told, he made the first Fast and The Furious so much better then it would have been. And while XXX tried to carry him into official action star status, he never quite seems satisfied with that label.
This is probably why this film feels like it wants to be taken really seriously, and Diesel tries his best to sell it as more then just your typical action flick. he does half decent here, and I'd be interested to see him in a more serious drama.
