Review of A Little Princess (1995) by Kathleen R — 29 Aug 2012
Being that I belonged to the Princess Sarah generation (if you were a grade schooler in the 90's in any part of the Philippines, then you'll know what I mean) I'm inclined on watching and liking movie adaptations of the classic novels.
Growing up with Sara Crew, I knew the story by heart and felt more critical to any adaptation of this certain princess story. This was the movie that declared the genius that is Alfonso Cuarón to my movie life.
It captured everything that this story has to offer. The magic of being a child, the world little girls live in, the strength and courage that could live through faith from the tiny bit of hope. This isn't just the princess I know, a royalty that defy being so little.
