Review of A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night (2014) by Steve S — 09 Jun 2016
It's not everyday you find a gem like this...an Iranian art house hipster teenage skateboard vampire love story. Ana Lily Amirpour films in high contrast black and white, creating a Lynchian dystopia, full of lush images and homages to just about every film genre.
The film is steeped in the loneliness of it's 2 main characters, a petty criminal named Arash and the unnamed girl vampire, who find common ground among the barren landscape of their lives. Probably the best film I've seen all week! #movieaday.
