Review of A Face in the Crowd (1957) by Jeff Z — 18 Jan 2008
Anyone who has only seen Andy Griffith in "Matlock" or "the Andy Griffith Show" has no idea how truely great he can be until they see this film. Made before his success as the lovable Andy Taylor, being familiar with him in roles like that if anything makes this film even better.
Eli Kazan does an outstanding job directing a very talented cast in Budd Shulberg's solid script.
