Review of A Face in the Crowd (1957) by Kim L — 08 Mar 2008
Absolutely brilliant! What a stunning, powerful movie. It was difficult to get into at first because I'd never seen Andy Griffith in a role like that before, someone who was clearly not a good man.
And how prophetic! This came out 3 years before the Nixon-Kennedy debates clearly established the power of television in the political arena, and the idea of a candidate as an advertised product. Absolutely brilliant.
