Review of A Face in the Crowd (1957) by Bryan W — 19 Feb 2009
Seeing Andy Griffith as an evil and diabolical television personality is quite fun...if he'd have stayed in this vein of acting, Mayberry would never have existed...it was also interesting to see Walter Matthau in an early role, as well as a cameo by Mike Wallace.
On a personal level, it's also neat to see a movie shot in my grandmother's hometown (actually Piggott, Arkansas, not "Pickett") where the town square and the Pfeiffer Estate are recognizable. My dad could have been an extra in the film...
