I saw the film at an advance showing and have read the book more than once. It's a magical tale and well done on the big screen. It features a talented cast and the dogs are amazingly well trained and just delightful to watch.

I am well-aware of the controversy surrounding the possibility of one dog being forced to do something he didn't want to do, but he was never maltreated according to the reports from people who have re-watched that portion of the filming with that dog.

The highest standards of humane treatment to animals were in effect at all times on the set of the movie. Animal lovers and your families will delight in this film as it poses a deep question that we all ask from time to time: "What is my purpose?".
