Review of A Dangerous Method (2011) by Andy S — 18 Jun 2012
The eponymous method can be described as treating painful and even unforgivable acts as necessary and inevitable human experiences. It's dangerous not simply because of moral transgression but because it blurs the boundaries between science and belief, and compromising objectivity, the ultimate catch-22 for the dedicated scientist.
The performances are all surprisingly distinctive and interesting, as they are Cronenberg's virtually unilateral focus here.
