Review of A Bucket of Blood (1959) by Brad G — 30 Sep 2010
"Walter, you've done something to me." Roger Corman had directed 22 films before A Bucket of Blood and he would go on to direct 33 more, but the tale of desperate wannabe Beatnik Walter Paisley and the murders surrounding his "art" is easily his best.
Unstoppable character actor Dick Miller as the soft minded Walter is brilliant; over the course of a short 65 minutes Miller is funny, sad to heartbreaking, and creepy to terrifying. It's a tour de force and you exploitation fans out there owe it to yourself to revel in A Bucket of Blood.
