Review of A Bucket of Blood (1959) by Peter H — 31 Mar 2010
One of the best Roger Corman films ever ( that inculdes death race 2000). the plot line has a faint hint of being simmilar to the house of wax but that being said its very inovative. the writer Charles Griffith ( Corman main writer) plot is very clever walter a bus boy in a beatnick cafe is trying to be a sculpuler trys despratlty to sculpt with clay but fails misrably that is until he accidenlty kills a cat and covers it in clay.
the owner of the cafe encorages him to sculpt something that realistic again. as luck would have it a undercover cop hassels walter of having narcotics in his posession so he kills him and cover him in clay.
the film has a lot of good twists and turns but its let down by average acting in the case of walters portrayal in parts it felt like he was being both a campy fool and then a phsycopath at the same time.
6/10 its a very good roger corman film ( thankfuly its not as stupid as creature from the haunted sea).
