Review of A Boy and His Dog (1975) by Tico P — 18 Jun 2007
Not a bad film despite the silly title. This is another post apocalyptic film, that must have been the inspiration for Mad Max and countless rip offs. Don Johnson and his telepathic dog, named Blood, dwell the wastelands, after world war four, looking for food and sex.
Of course Bloods exquisite scent comes in handy sniffing out desired needs miles away. I know this all sounds quite silly, but the story is in fact meant as a bleak bleak satire of the deterioration of mankind, and a social commentary ahead of its time .
A clever film with a twist ending that will leave you screaming with laughter or disbelief. Disturbing fun for the whole family.
