Review of A Boy and His Dog (1975) by Miguel A — 17 May 2014
A Boy and his Dog is the story of Don Johnson wandering a post-apocalyptic wasteland with his telepathic dog. Awesome. They search the barren wastes avoiding bandits, while trying to get women to sleep with and food to eat. The movie does a weird shift near the end where the wasteland becomes secondary to a weird underground cult that is based around a skewed view of 50's Americana.
The pacing is a bit slow, but it gives you ample time to enjoy the sparse scenery and fantastic cinematography. This film still lacks some general cohesion, but due to its amazing ending it earns an extra half star to round out at 8/10.
