Review of A Better Tomorrow II (1987) by Lloyd C — 06 Mar 2009
Not as good as the original, but there are certainly some great moments to be treasured here. The events pick up right after the first film. The film feels uneven at times but we are certainly treated to some great parts.
The scene in the restaurant in New York with Chow Yun-Fat facing an Italian mobster eating some rice is classic. The final shootout is also memorable with grenades, shotguns, axes and swords. This film fits nicely before the bigger budget John Woo features such as, 'The Killer' and 'Hard Boiled'.
