Review of 9 Songs (2004) by Dan S — 08 Jun 2007
9 Songs could have been called 9 Shags although that might have detracted from an audience craving art not porn. Michael Winterbottom's tale of young lovers is a raw and original film that cements his position as the most daring British director working today.
However, this is far from his best work, and while it is unique in its use of sex to tell a story, it doesn't have much of a story to tell, lacking both character development and any remnants of a plot.
