Review of '71 (2014) by Dane M — 26 Aug 2015
Taut from start to finish. Takes the viewer into the war-ravaged part of Ireland. We watched this on television but didn't understand it. The images come to life and it's not so much the violence that holds us as it's the people.
Caught between loyalty to a cause and humanity, the children follow or lead. That's the brutal part of the film that I studied and cringed to.
