Review of 5 Flights Up (2014) by Heather M — 16 Aug 2015
It has some problems like the unnecessary sub plot about terrorism in New York that could have easily been adjusted to something else less ridiculous but Morgan Freeman and Diane Keaton are just too good to ignore.
It makes itself seem better as a play rather than a movie but the material isn't quite strong enough for the stage to begin with. There are great small parts played by great stage actors like Jackie Hoffman and Miriam Shor and Cynthia Nixon is also quite good.
Overall, it isn't a perfect movie but for those who enjoy simplistic movies about aging and relationship and fans of Morgan Freeman and Diane Keaton, it's worth checking out.
