Review of 5 Flights Up (2014) by Carlo C — 23 Jan 2016
I love this one. Every note rings true. I totally believe in the chemistry that Diane Keaton and Morgan Freeman create in this small, chamber-piece of a romantic comedy. I normally favor dark, noirish films with lots of ironic -- even snarky -- humor, but it sure feels great to stumble across a small movie about two people so in love with life and so in love with each other that never falters even once from the opening lines the whole way through to the Van Morrison love song played over the glorious aerial view of Brooklyn during the closing credits.
An open plea to Diane Keaton, Morgan Freeman, writer Charlie Peters, and director Richard Loncraine: Please, please make a bunch more movies together. This one delivered the goods ... and I feel good.
