Review of 45 Years (2015) by Hotfromcauldron — 04 Jan 2016
Simple. Simply brilliant. A masterclass in acting and character study. Rampling is riveting. And Courtney follows her lead as a couple whose past seeps into their present jeopardizing their future. Little happens but a lot is felt in the hands of one of today’s best directors - Andrew Haigh - who targets our emotions as he reflects on our everyday lives.
His use of music, inanimate objects, intimate dialogue and silence is unparalleled. A film that will forever be a haunting memory.
