Review of 45 Years (2015) by Saran M — 28 Aug 2018
I understand why some people believe the film moves slowly but it is an excellent example of simple being perfect. This is a filmmaker's film. A film for the person who enjoys picking apart every line to divine meaning.
There is a type of jealousy/envy/doubt that can be difficult describe and I felt like this movie explored it well. What if everything you thought to be real and factual for 45 years was a lie or overshadowed? The very fact it was hidden from you causing concern? It's not a fun movie.
You will explore a spectrum of emotions. I wanted more finality from the movie and it's not a film you can share with others easily which is why it lost a star but it is a valuable film.
