Review of 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days (2007) by Alexander S — 20 Jan 2009
This is one of those movies that you want to look away but you can't stop watching. It is hard to watch and it is shocking. The filmmaker has this movie feel very real with a beginning that is painfully slow, but once the girls reach the hotel the dread which was building starts to peak. The acting is very strong on all fronts and this helps carry the piece.
****Spoiler****.
I normally don't do spoilers but the interesting part of this movie is how it ends. The horror of this film is the entire time you're worried as to what will go wrong. Will the man come back for his ID, will the hotel staff enter the room, will the girl be caught by the police...of course having seen the ending of the movie, the viewer knows the answers...If this is the "best case scenario" and the situation is this scary, imagine how scary it would be in the cases where things went wrong.
