Review of 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days (2007) by Donal D — 30 Jan 2009
Good, but not nearly the masterpiece it is pretended to be. It is about as emotionally cold as a Romanian winter. Additionally it lacks any kind of camera composition, and at times feels like it as filmed by an amateur standing in the corner of a room with a hand held camera.
Artistry is not abandoning all conventions of your art form. This feels more like voyeurism than cinema. The film is filled with tension, so for that I give it three stars, but overall a very disappointing film.
