Too much brawn & brown (sepia). An intricately rendered depiction of an interesting nugget of world history, but for all its detailed glittering, oft gory pixels, the movie has a vacuous and heady effect on the viewer, perhaps through butler's (all-too-convincing) grunty vapid dialog.
